Mizzou Soccer Excited to Go Green on Friday

Aug. 27, 2008

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri women's soccer team will embrace a new color this Friday as they host Auburn at 6:30 p.m. For the second straight season, the Tigers will go green in an effort to promote recycling awareness and to provide an opportunity for fans to discard electronic items in an environmentally friendly way.

Fans who bring electronic items such as used cell phones, DVDs and CDs, VHS tapes, video games, laptop batteries, cell phone batteries, print cartridges, and other `e-waste' items will receive free admission to the non-conference match. Additionally, recycling bins will be available around the Walton Stadium facilities for traditional recyclables like plastics, paper, etc.

As part of the promotion, special `go green' t-shirts will be worn by the players in the pre-game warm-up and several will be thrown into the stands by the players prior to kickoff.
