Columbia, Mo. -Four of Missouri's media guides were awarded top-three finishes as announced today by the College Sports Information Director's of America (CoSIDA). This marks the third-straight year in which the Missouri Media Relations office has produced award-winning guides.
The Tigers' men's basketball guide, written by Assistant Director of Media Relations Dave Reiter, finished first in the nation and in the district, while Assistant Director Josh Murray's 2008 baseball guide was named best in the district. The 2008 AT&T Cotton Bowl post-season guide, produced by Assistant Director Emily G. Murray, along with Murray and Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations Chad Moller was billed third-best in the nation, an improvement from last year's fourth-place finish.
Graphic designer Brendon Steenbergen of BigFish Creative was awarded the title of Best Cover for his work on the 2007-08 Missouri Wrestling Guide. Steenbergen and Emily Murray worked to design the "Evolution of a Champion," cover. Reiter, with the assistance of Woodruff-Sweitzer, also received top-honors for this year's men's basketball guide cover.
"We're very excited to be recognized by CoSIDA in this way," Moller said. "We all work tirelessly to represent the University in a first-class manner with these publications, and it's a great feeling to be recognized by our peers for the product we put out."
Since the 2001-02 campaign, the Missouri Media Relations staff has tallied 11 top-five national finishes and received 12 top-five district nods for work on media guides.
