Audrey Walton Combined Events Rescheduled

May 2, 2008

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Missouri track and field team announced Friday that the 5th Annual Audrey Walton Combined Events that were postponed on its original date of April 10-11 has now been rescheduled for May 21-22 (Wed.-Thurs.). Unstable weather coupled with low temperatures and gusty winds prompted an early postponement days before its scheduled running. While the event's field will be filled by invitation only, those wanting to inquire about possible competition in the men's and women's decathlon and women's heptathlon may do so by emailing LewisTV@missouri.edu.

Because of the timing of the event, a mostly non-collegiate field is expected, but those older athletes trying to obtain USATF Olympic Team Trials and Olympic Games qualifiers are expected to be among the field.

Former Tiger and now post-collegian for his home country of Norway, Hans Uldal has won the men's decathlon in each of the past three years including his win in 2006 where he set the existing meet record of 8,018.

Meet info will be posted here at a later date:
