Salbasgeon Suites Invitational
vs. Oregon St., Boise St. & Sacramento St.

Probable Tiger Lineup

Columbia, Mo. - For the second consecutive week, the No. 16 Missouri Gymnastics squad will hit the road for a pivotal showdown that features two top 25 programs. The Tigers will head to Corvallis, Ore. to take part in the Salbasgeon Suites Invitational hosted by No. 8 Oregon State. Also on hand will be No. 19 Boise State and Sacramento State. The meet marks the second quad-meet in three weeks for the Tigers.

Facing three unfamiliar foes, the Tigers will look to rebound from last week's narrow victory. The Tigers escaped Illinois with a 195.400 - 195.325 win and took nearly all they could handle from the Illini last Saturday. The Tigers have faced OSU, BSU and SSU a combined four times, making this a field of new and unfamiliar opponents. The Tigers are 0-2 all time against the Beavers, but have wins over Boise State and Sacramento State.

Junior Adrianne Perry (Columbia Mo.) has been the Tigers best gymnast over the past five weeks, and arguably one of the best in the nation as well. Perry has earned five straight all-around titles, dating back to Feb. 15, when she claimed the title at SEMO. Perry has knocked off some of the best gymnasts in the nation during that stretch, including Oklahoma's Kiara Redmond-Sturms and Michigan's Lindsey Bruck and Sarah Curtis, all of whom have spent time ranked in the top 10. Perry will get another shot at topping a top-10 all-arounder in Oregon States Jami Lanz, who currently ranks sixth.

Perry claimed four event titles at Illinois, giving her 13 on the season. Her performance at Illinois inched her closer to teammate Sarah Shire (Columbia, Mo.) who has 18 event titles. Sophomore Danielle Guider (Nutley, N.J.) had her best meet of the season at Illinois, tallying season highs on vault, beam and floor and will look to carry that momentum into the weekend.

The slue of opponents is highlighted by No. 8 Oregon State, who seems to be one of the best teams when competing in their home gym. The Beavers have eclipsed the 196.000 in three of their four home meets and are undefeated. They have hit the 196.000 mark just twice in six road meets, and posted their second lowest score of the season, 195.150, at Utah last weekend.

Boise State comes in ranked 19th, and is one of the hottest teams in the nation. The Broncos are coming off of a tri-meet title at Arizona State, where they knocked off ASU and Penn State last weekend. They entered the meet with the lowest ranking of the three teams at 22, but the victory moved them up to 19th. The Broncos have one of the largest rosters in Division I with 25 gymnasts. Their big team allows the Broncos to have a variety of event specialists and it has contributed nicely as they lack a real all-around threat, despite Hannah Redmon, who has claimed WAC Gymnast of the Week four times this season.

Sacramento State, who started the season sluggishly, has also been posting big scores over the last several weeks. The Hornets opened the season with a 189.000 but have been over 193.000 in their last four meets, posting a 194.675 at Boise State and a 195.250 last weekend.

The Tigers have been one of the best vault teams this season as it is proving to be one of their best events. This weekend, the Tigers will try to top a season best performance of 49.050 last weekend on vault. The Tigers consistency on beam is one of the main reasons for their success in 2008. Averaging a 48.900 this season, the Tigers started the beam sluggish, but have since hit the 49.000 mark three times and 48.900 twice, solidifying their spot as one of the best beam teams in the nation.
