General Game Notes
- With the win, Louisville will meet Oklahoma State in Super Regional action this weekend. Site and dates for the Super Regional will be announced this evening at 10 p.m. CT.
Louisville Game Notes
- Third baseman Chris Dominguez was named the Columbia Regional's Most Outstanding Player, finishing Monday's contest with three hits and seven RBIs. Dominguez hit a first-inning Grand Slam and followed with a three-run homer in the fifth as well as a double. The seven RBI pushed his total to 11 for the Columbia Regional and 53 on the year. Dominguez became the fifth Cardinal to top 50 RBI on the year.
- Dominguez also led the Regional with 24 total bases, including 10 today.
- Louisville pounded out a season high 21 hits en route to the 16 runs. The 16 runs were the second most for the club this season. The Cardinals plated 17 runs on April 3 vs. Marshall.
- Every Cardinal's starter recorded at least one hit on Monday and seven of the nine starters enjoyed multi-hit affairs, including Boomer Whiting, Daniel Burton, Jorge Castillo, Chris Dominguez and Chris Cates who recorded three-hit afternoons.
- Louisville recorded three more home runs vs. the Tigers today and finished with a tourney-leading eight round-trippers. Missouri was second with seven.
- Louisville used seven pitchers during today's contest, but only Justin Marks, today's winner, pitched more than 1.1 innings. Marks threw 3.0 innings, striking out two, while allowing just one run.
Missouri Game Notes
- Aaron Senne finished the season by hitting home runs in back-to-back games. Senne finished with seven homers on the year. The All-Regional Team pick also scored a pair of runs.
- Eight-of-nine Missouri starters recorded at least one hit, with four Tigers enjoying multi-hit affairs. Evan Frey and Brock Bond each enjoyed three-hit afternoons to finish the season.
- Missouri finishes the year with 42 wins, which ranks No. 5 all-time. The 1988 Tigers also won 42 games.
- Seniors Gary Arndt and John McKee each recorded hits in their final games for Mizzou. McKee went 1-for-4 with a run scored, while Arndt went 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
