FIRST PITCH
No. 29 Mizzou will make its first of two scheduled trips to GSC Ballpark in Sauget, Ill. on Tuesday to face Southern Illinois.
The game, which will take place at the home of the Gateway Grizzlies, will be played with wood bats.
Missouri is 22-8 on the season and 4-2 in the Big 12 Conference and is coming off a series win over Kansas last weekend.
SIU enters Tuesday's game with a 21-8 overall record and are 4-2 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
QUICK HITS
- Missouri is ranked for the second-straight week, coming in at No. 29 in this week's Collegiate Baseball's Top 30. The Tigers are the also receiving votes in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll.
- Mizzou had a 14-game winning streak from March 2-23, which was the longest for the Tigers since a 15-game streak in 2005. In 2006, the longest winning streak was six games.
- The Tigers have won all five of their three-game series this season, including sweeps in the first three series.
- In MU's four games last week (vs. Creighton and Kansas), junior Evan Frey hit .550 with two home runs and nine RBI. The two homers were the first of his career.

SCOUTING THE SALUKIS
Southern Illinois is third in the Missouri Valley Conference with a 4-2 conference record and brings a 21-8 overall record into the matchup with Mizzou.
SIU dropped two of three last weekend against Evansville, taking the series finale in 11 innings. Prior to that series, the Salukis had won eight in a row and 11 out of 12.
The Salukis have won their last five wood bat games, including four against Saint Louis and the last meeting with Missouri in 2005 in O'Fallon, Mo.
SERIES HISTORY
Missouri holds a slim lead in the all-time series with Southern Illinois, with a 14-13 advantage heading into Tuesday's matchup.
The last meeting between the two teams came in 2005, when SIU took a 7-0 win over the Tigers in a game played at T.R. Hughes Ballpark in O'Fallon, Mo., in another wood bat game.

Missouri will travel to Manhattan, Kan. for a three-game series against Kansas State. With the Easter holiday, the series will be played Thursday-Saturday, with games at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
