NEW YORK - The Heisman Trophy Trust announced on Wednesday that Mizzou junior quarterback Chase Daniel has been invited to attend the 73rd Annual Heisman Memorial Trophy Award announcement on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square.

Daniel becomes the first Tiger invited to attend the Heisman Trophy announcement in school history and will be joined at the presentation by Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, Arkansas running back Darren McFadden and Hawaii signal caller Colt Brennan.

ESPN will once again air this year's Heisman announcement at 7 p.m. (CT), with the winner being announced at approximately 7:50 p.m. (CT).

Daniel is expected to be the highest Tiger finisher in the Heisman Trophy voting since Paul Christman finished third in 1939 and once again in the top five in 1940. The last Tiger to finish among the top 10 in the voting was Danny LaRose in 1960. Daniel would also become the first Tiger to win the award in school history.

Daniel is coming off a record-breaking campaign en route to leading Mizzou to an 11-2 record and a No. 6 Bowl Championship Series ranking this season. A first team All-Big 12 signal caller, Daniel is a finalist for virtually every imaginable post-season award given to a quarterback, while throwing for school record totals of 4,170 yards and 33 touchdowns. A gritty performer that has started 25 consecutive games for the Tigers, Daniel ranks among the nation's leaders with an incredible 69.7 percent completion percentage and a 33-to-10 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Daniel has also added four rushing touchdowns and finished the year accounting for 16 scores and just two interceptions over his final five games.

Missouri returns to action on Jan. 1 at the Cotton Bowl vs. fellow Heisman finalist Darren McFadden and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Game time from Dallas is slated for 10:40 a.m.
