COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri has sold out of its allotment of 16,000 tickets for the 2008 Cotton Bowl, as announced by Mizzou Ticket Office officials this morning.
2007 Tiger Scholarship Fund donors and season ticket holders received the option of reserving Bowl Game tickets in advance. As a result, 10,000 tickets were reserved prior to the Nov. 30 priority deadline. An additional 6,000 tickets were made available for sale at 8 a.m. Monday morning to all alumni and fans. Anticipation for the Tigers first New Year's Day bowl appearance since 1970 was extremely high as the remaining number of tickets sold out in less than two hours.
A block of tickets has been held for MU students who purchased a 2007 All-Sports Pass. These tickets will be allocated based on a lottery system. All-Sports Pass holders were sent an email on Sunday alerting them to the lottery process.
“Mizzou fans made a tremendous statement today in support of their team by purchasing tickets to the Cotton Bowl,” Head Coach Gary Pinkel said. “There is no doubt that we have the best fans in the country and we look forward to playing in front of many of them on January 1 in Dallas.”
The Mizzou Alumni Association, Dodds Athletic Tours and Great Southern Travel have teamed up to offer the Official Mizzou Cotton Bowl Tour.
