Game Notes
Texas A&M at Missouri - Nov. 10, 2007
Series Notes:
- With the win, the Tigers pulled closer in the all-time series, narrowing the gap to 3-7. The Tigers did manage to pull the series back to .500 since the formation of the Big 12 Conference. The Tigers are now 3-3 all time against the Aggies in conference play.
First Quarter Notes:
- Senior Tony Temple started the senior day festivities off with a bang as he ran a 44-yard touchdown down the left sideline. The 44-yard run was the longest touchdown run of the season for any Tiger in 2007, and his longest since a 69-yard run in last season's Brut Sun Bowl against Oregon State. It was also the sixth longest play from scrimmage this season for the Tigers.
- Temple's touchdown was the fifth time this season that the Tigers have scored on the first possession of the game.
- Missouri safety Del Howard earned his first career start for the Tiger defense. Howard started as the nickel-back.
- Temple finished the first quarter with six rushes for 76 yards and one touchdown. The rushing total for the first quar>ter alone gives Temple his third largest output of the season with three quarters still to play. Temple finished the game with 21 carries while accumulating 141 yards.
- Texas A&M scored on a safety on a wild snap in punt formation by the Tigers on fourth down. The credited team rush was the first time that the Tiger have failed to convert on fourth down all season, a category that they were leading in nationally.
Second Quarter Notes:
- Chase Coffman caught his seventh touchdown pass of the season on a five yard strike from Chase Daniel with 11:24 remaining in the second quarter. The touchdown was Coffman's fourth touchdown in the last two games.
- The drive, capped by Coffman's TD, lasted 17 plays, besting the previous long drive of 14 plays that the Tigers had against Western Michigan. The Tiger only ran 13 plays on its first three drives combined.
- In his final home game with Mizzou, Will Franklin caught his second pass of the day on the 17-play drive, giving him 128 for his career, moving him past Thomson Omboga and tying him with Victor Bailey for fifth place all time at Mizzou. Franklin finished the game with four catches tallying 45 yards.
- Chase Daniel completed 17 passes in the first half for 265 yards. The 265 yards moves Daniel into second place all time at Mizzou behind only Brad Smith. Daniel finished the game with 353 yards, moving him past Jeff Handy with 7180 yards.
- Coffman caught his third pass of the half late in the second quarter giving him 152 for his career, ranking him thi
rd all-time behind only teammate Martin Rucker (185) and NFL receiver Justin Gage (200). - William Moore intercepted a Stephen McGee pass with 2:18 left in the second quarter. The pick was the fifth of the season for Moore and gives the Tigers a takeaway in 16 consecutive games, dating back to last season.
- On the ensuing possession, Daniel completed a 82-yard run and catch to wideout Jeremy Maclin. The completion was Missouri's longest play from scrimmage this season and the longest in both Daniel and Maclin's career.
- The 82-yard strike also pushes the season point total to 402, the highest ever for Mizzou. The previous best was 399 by the Tigers in 2003, and that took 13 games.
- In addition, the 82-yard pass was the longest since 1987 when Robert Delpino ran 86 yards against Iowa State. It was the longest pass play since 1976 when Joe Stewart caught a 98-yard pass against Nebraska.
Third Quarter Notes:
- The Tigers came up with a huge redzone stand late in the third quarter, holding the Aggies to a field goal. The stand was capped by a Sean Weatherspoon tackle of Mike Goodson behind the line of scrimmage as Weatherspoon blasted through the line of scrimmage to break of the option, preserving the Tiger lead.
Fourth Quarter Notes:
- The Tigers redzone defense held strong again as the Aggies once again found themselves knocking on the door. After a Jorvorskie Lane run inside the 10, the Tigers forced an incompletion and blew up a screen pass on third down to hold the Aggies to a 36-yard field goal attempt. The Aggie kicker Matt Szymanski pushed the kick wide right, preserving the Tiger lead.
- Tony Temple continued his strong performance in the fourth quarter. Temple went over the century mark for the third time this season. Temple also hit the century mark against Ole Miss and Illinois State.
- Jimmy Jackson continued his scoring for the Tigers as he tallied a six-yard touchdown run with 9:00 remaining in the fourth, stretching the Tiger lead to 31-19. The touchdown was his sixth of the season.
- The Tigers were able to put away the Aggies with the running game late in the fourth quarter. The Aggies scored with 7:52 remaining in the fourth, and that is when Temple and Jackson took over. On a drive that took 4:08, the Tigers ran the ball eight times for 57 yards. The drive was capped by a 12-yard touchdown pass from Daniel to Maclin, the second hook-up between the two in the game.
- Maclin caught five balls for 146 yards for two touchdowns. Maclin averaged 29.2 yards per catch.
- Senior Lorenzo Williams tallied a sack for a safety with 3:33 left in the fourth, giving the Tigers a 40-26 lead. The sack moves Williams into soul possession of fourth place all-time with 17.5 career sacks, just .5 shy of third place Rick Lyle.

- Tiger fans packed "The Zou" once more tallying 64,945 fans in attendance. With the showing, the Tigers averaged 60,232 fans per home game this season, the first time Mizzou has averaged 60,000 fans since 1981.
- With the Tigers 40 point outing, Mizzou has now broken 40 points in eight of its 10 games.
- The Aggies will look back at penalties as a reason that they could not stick with the Tigers. A&M finished the game with eight penalties for 59 yards.
- With the win at home in the "Zou," the Tigers improve to 25-6 at Memorial Stadium since the 2003 season.
- Several of the 20 Tiger seniors had huge days on senior day at "The Zou." Martin Rucker capped his impressive career at home by catching six balls for 54 yards. Temple ran that ball 22 times for 141 yards, his highest output since the Brut Sun Bowl last season when he ran for 194 yards. Franklin also caught four balls for 45 yards in his last game at Memorial Stadium.
- Maclin and Temple accounted for 338 total yards of offense. Maclin finished the game with 146 yards receiving and 32 yards rushing, while Temple added 141 on the ground and 19 through the air. The Tigers finished with 555 total yards, 61% of which was tallied by Temple and Maclin.

- With the win, the Tigers clinch its first undefeated season at home since 2003. The Tigers finish the season 6-0 at home, matching the best all time, also set in 2003.
