Salt Lake City, Utah - Thomas Gardner reached double-figures for the fourth time in five games and played a team-high 31 minutes to lead the Chicago Bulls to an 85-79 win over Atlanta in the second day of action at the Rocky Mountain Revue Summer League in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Tuesday.
Gardner hit 3-of-9 shots, including a three-pointer to lead Chicago to the come-from-behind win. The Bulls trailed 43-34 at the half, but outscored the Hawks 31-16 in the third quarter to gain a 65-59 lead. Chicago improved to 1-1 in the Rocky Mountain Revue.
Gardner earned his second consecutive start at forward for Chicago and added a pair of rebounds and an assist.
Pittsburgh rookie Aaron Gray led Chicago with 15 points and seven boards. The center was a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor.
Sheldon Williams led Atlanta with a game-high 20 points. The former Duke Blue Devil finished 8-of-18 from the floor with five boards.
Gardner and the Bulls return to action Thursday against Seattle. Game time is slated for 4:30 p.m. locally in Salt Lake City.
