Columbia, Mo. - University of Missouri Men's Basketball Coach Mike Anderson announced that junior forward Glen Dandridge (Goochland, Va. / Mount Zion Academy) has left the program.
A 6-foot-6 forward from Goochland, Va., Dandridge played in 18 games for the Tigers last season and averaged 1.4 points and 0.7 rebounds.
"Glen and I sat down and discussed his future and we came to a mutual agreement that this decision was in the best interest for him and our program," Anderson said. "We certainly thank Glen for his time and commitment to the University of Missouri and wish him nothing but the best of luck in his future endeavors."
Over his career Dandridge played in 72 total games and averaged 2.0 points and 0.8 rebounds.
The departure of Dandridge opens a scholarship for Missouri. Earlier this month Mizzou inked prep school standout Justin Safford. The Tigers also welcome junior forward DeMarre Carroll, who will become eligible this season after transferring from Vanderbilt prior to the start of the 2006-07 campaign. As a sophomore, Carroll averaged 10.9 points and 6.4 rebounds for the Commodores.
The 2007-08 season will be a highly-anticipated one for MU. After going 18-12 and finishing in the upper division of the Big 12 Conference standings last year, the Tigers return all-five starters and 12 total letterwinners. Anderson's squad also returns 96.6 percent of its scoring, 96.6 percent of its rebounding, 98.5 percent of its assists and 94.7 percent of its steals. Last season, Anderson and his staff tied the Mizzou rookie record with 18 wins and the six-win improvement for the Tigers was the most since the 1993-94 campaign.
