
Missouri Women's Tennis Defeats Air Force 6-1

Colorado Springs, Colo. - The University of Missouri women's tennis team defeated the Air Force Falcons 6-1 Friday. With the win, the Tigers improve their overall record to 6-5.
Friday's match was the Tigers' first of a two-match road trip. Saturday, Missouri will face Big 12 foe No. 39 Colorado in Boulder.
Stepping into the No. 1 singles spot for injured Tiger Hana Kraftova, Missouri junior Yelena Olshanskaya defeated Kat Bushey 6-3, 2-6, 6-0. The win was Olshanskaya's second in the No. 1 spot this season. At No. 2 singles, Tiger Lubica Nadasska also won in three sets, defeating Air Force's Lauren Wilson 2-6, 6-2, 6-3. At No. 3 singles, Missouri's Erika Josbena defeated Christine Abayan 6-1, 6-3. Also getting two set wins for the Tigers, Val Dandik won in the No. 4 spot and Amanda Pratzel won her No. 5 singles match. In doubles action, the Tigers won two of three matches to earn the doubles point. The Tiger duos Olshanskaya /Josbena and Nadasska/Dandik won their matches.
In only her third singles match of the season, Missouri freshman Stephanie Johns lost in three sets to Air Force's Meghan Kiser at the No. 6 singles spot. And at No. 3 doubles the Tiger duo of Amanda Pratzel and Chrissy Svetlic fell 8-6.
The Tigers will travel north to Boulder to play No. 39 Colorado on Saturday. The match is scheduled for 11 a.m.
