Following a successful season-opening victory at Southern Illinois on Sunday, the Missouri women's basketball team plays host to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m.
General admission tickets are available for $5, with children and senior citizen tickets on sale for $3.
An MU victory would give head coach Cindy Stein her 200th career victory in her 12th season as a college head coach. She is currently 199-113 overall and 134-107 in her ninth year at Mizzou. Stein went 65-25 in three seasons at Emporia State.
Missouri (1-0) is 25-7 all-time in home openers and has never faced TAMU-CC in women's basketball. The Tigers shot 40 percent from the floor in their 71-60 win on Sunday but really showed their strength in getting to the free-throw line. MU shot 30 freebies and converted on 26 of them, compared to just six-of-12 for SIU.
Senior Tiffany Brooks led all scorers with 19 points and classmates EeTisha Riddle and Carlynn Savant added 14 apiece. Riddle also recorded her sixth career double-double with a game-high 12 rebounds. Sophomore Alyssa Hollins came off the bench to net a career-high 13 points in 20 minutes.
TAMU-CC will be playing its opener on Tuesday after splitting a pair of exhibitions. The Islanders fell to Houston Baptist in overtime, 66-65, and defeated St. Edwards's, 70-41. TAMU-CC is entering its first season as a member of the Southland Conference after playing as a Division I Independent for the past seven years. Last season they went 16-12 following a 23-7 campaign in 2004-05 in which they became the first independent school to receive a bit to the WNIT. Robert Robinson is entering his first season as the head coach following four years as the associate head coach.
