Head Coach Mike Anderson
Opening Statement
"I am very proud of our basketball team. We played against a team that was totally opposite from North Carolina A&T."
"This is year one, so hopefully this is a team where we improve each and every time we come out."
On Today's Performance
"Adversity took place, we came out at half-time and they went on like a 15-0 run, and before we knew it the game was tied up. We came in, and I thought we got our composure back and were able to play some very good defense, whether it was half-court or full-court, they got in position for the rebounds. Kalen [Grimes] had a career game and that's what he has to do, he has to be that beast in the middle."
"This is a team that you are going to see somebody else step up each and every time. Of course Keon, a guy that probably was a week and half away from being out on the floor, he gets 19 minutes, and he played big minutes for us. "
On the Play of Kalen Grimes
"It just told a lot about his character, Kalen wants to win, he wants to help our basketball team. That's what I'm looking for; I'm looking for my guys to respond in adverse situations."
On Missouri's Defensive Performance
"We had to find a way to win and that was on our defense, as I have said from day one, our defense, I thought was the biggest difference. They were making shots early in the second half and then as our guys started paying attention to the details, they were even blocking three point shots. They changed the total offensive scheme of the Army basketball team."
