College swimming enthusiasts will get their chance to see some championship-caliber swimmers and divers this weekend as Missouri hosts the Mizzou Dual Challenge at the Mizzou Aquatic Center, Friday through Sunday.

Along with the MU men's and women's teams, Division II power Drury, Iowa, Louisville and Southern Illinois will all compete in the four-session event which will consist of 10 dual meets, an invitational format on Sunday and diving on both springboards and the three highest platform towers.

Missouri's men are 0-1 on the season while the women are 1-1 and coming off an impressive 187-111 victory over arch-rival Kansas last Friday. The Tiger men have won four of their last five home duals and the women have emerged victorious in six of their last seven overall. Two of those six came on the road against Iowa and Drury last season.

Both Drury squads enter with 0-1 marks after falling to Southern Illinois two weeks ago at home. The Drury men's program is arguably the best D-II outfit in the nation as they have won the last two NCAA Championships and four since moving from NAIA status in 1993. The Panther women also have four D-II titles and finished second a year ago.

Iowa is coming off a very competitive meet against Michigan State in which both the men's and women's duals were decided in the last event. The Hawkeye men enter the weekend at 2-2 and the women are 1-3.

The Louisville men are 1-2 and received votes in the first College Swim Coaches Association of America poll two weeks ago, and the Cardinal women enter the weekend with a 2-1 slate. Both SIU squads enter with perfect 3-0 marks after notching road wins over Evansville, Missouri State and Drury. The Saluki men also garnered votes in the first coaches poll.

Action will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, 9:00 a.m. for the morning session on Saturday, 5:00 p.m. for Saturday's evening session and 9:00 a.m. for the invitational portion on Sunday. One-meter diving will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, three-meter at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday with five, seven and 10-meter platform exhibitions taking center stage on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
