The 2006 Malibu Regional Champion Missouri baseball team will begin its quest for a fifth-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament on Feb. 9, 2007 in Miami, Fla. Head Coach Tim Jamieson and the Tigers released the 2007 scheduled on Tuesday, which opens with a three-game series against Florida International Feb. 9-11.
The following weekend Mizzou will be in Arizona, taking Arizona State on Feb. 15 before joining the Sun Devils in Surprise, Ariz. for the Spring Training Classic, where matchups with Gonzaga and defending National Champion Oregon State are also on the Tigers' slate.
Mizzou will conclude its three-week road trip to open the season with the Service Academy Classic in Millington, Tenn., where MU will take on BYU, Akron, Memphis and Navy.
Missouri will open its 2007 home schedule with an 11-game homestand beginning on March 2 against Youngstown State. Three-game series with Louisiana-Monroe and Cleveland State, along with contests against Saint Louis and Western Illinois make up the first homestand of the year.
March 23 will mark the opening of the Big 12 Conference season, as the Tigers travel to Lincoln, Neb. to take on Nebraska. Following that series, Mizzou will remain in the state of Nebraska to take on Creighton in Omaha on March 27.
Border Showdown rival Kansas will be at Taylor Stadium on March 30 for a three-game series to open the home portion of the conference schedule. Other home Big 12 series include Texas A&M (April 13-15), Texas Tech (April 27-29) and Oklahoma (May 11-13).
Missouri and Kansas will meet again on April 25, this time at Kauffman Stadium, the home of the Kansas City Royals.
The Big 12 Tournament is May 23-27 at Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City and the NCAA Regionals will open up June 1, with the College World Series taking place June 15-23.
The Tigers, who are one of just 22 teams in the nation to have advanced to the past four NCAA Tournaments, return six position starters and five pitchers from last year's squad. Jamieson enters his 13th year at the helm of the Tigers with the first win of the 2007 season marking his 400th career victory.
