Missouri's Abbie Booth and Colten Green have been named the Varsity M/Lathrop & Gage Student-Athletes of the Week for Sept. 25-Oct. 1, 2006.

Booth has been a mainstay on the back-row for the nationally-ranked Tiger volleyball team this season. She has appeared in all 13 matches, while making five starts as a defensive specialist. The senior from Kansas, City, Mo. is averaging 1.4 digs per game and has posted a 1.000 serve percentage, going errorless in 33 attempts. A three-time Academic All-Big 12 selection, she has spent time volunteering at various youth volleyball and Big Brothers/Big Sisters sports clinics. Booth carries a 3.62 grade-point average in finance and banking.

A senior cross country runner from Roach, Mo., Green performed well in his season debut last week at the Roy Griak Invitational in Falcon Heights, Minn. He covered the 8K course in 26:07 to finish fifth among the Tigers and 83rd overall out of 301 runners. As a team, Mizzou scored 281 points for an eight-place finish. At last year's NCAA Midwest Regional, he helped MU to a third-place finish by placing 37th on the 10K course in Iowa City, Iowa. Green is an education major with a 3.29 GPA and has previously earned Academic All-Big 12 accolades.

The Missouri volleyball team (9-4, 3-1 Big 12) will be back in action on Wednesday, when they host Baylor at 6:30 p.m. in the Hearnes Center. The Mizzou cross country teams will run in their third meet of the season on Friday, when they travel to South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Invitational.
