Evan Unrau Returns To Europe For Second Professional Season

Former Missouri women's basketball standout Evan Unrau will continue her professional career in Europe for the second-consecutive season.

Unrau entertained a pair of offers from teams in Luxembourg and Sweden, before signing a deal to play for AB Contern of the Dutch Basketball League.

In addition to Contern, the two-time First Team Big 12 honoree has been selected as one of two American's to play for the Luxembourg National Team in the FIBA Euro Cup, beginning in November. Former Michigan and Wisconsin-Green Bay letterwinner Amanda Stowe is the other American.

Unrau played for coach Cindy Stein from 2000-04 and concluded her career by finishing in the top-10 in 12 of 16 statistical categories, including No. 3 in career rebounds with 945. She made the Dean's List four consecutive years and was a recipient of the Athletic Director's Scholarship Award. She was selected by Washington in the third round of the 2004 WNBA Draft.

The Fort Collins, Colo. native was a three-time Academic All-Big 12 Conference honoree and received her undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2004. She spent the 2005-06 campaign as a graduate assistant with Mizzou while she earned a master's degree in Health Education and Promotion, with an emphasis on Sport Psychology.
