Graybill and Malm Named Student-Athletes of the Week

Sept. 11, 2006

Missouri's Brian Graybill and Meggie Malm have been named the Varsity M/Lathrop & Gage Student-Athletes of the Week for Sept. 11-17, 2006.

Graybill recently helped the MU men's cross country team capture the Missouri Cross Country Challenge over the weekend at the A.L. Gustin Golf Course. The sophomore from Liberty, Mo., completed the 8K course in seventh place with a time of 27:03.93. He was a three-time MSHSAA all-state honoree in both cross country and track at Liberty HS where he was valedictorian of his 500-member class. He is a mechanical engineering major with a 3.88 grade point average.

One of just four seniors on the Mizzou soccer team, Malm has started all six games at defender while helping a young Tiger squad to a 6-0 start and a top-20 national ranking. She has assisted on one goal while anchoring a back row that opened the year with a school-record five-consecutive shutouts. Malm hails from Des Moines, Iowa, and carries a 3.94 GPA in art and science.

The MU soccer team returns to action this weekend at the Wisconsin Invitational in Madison, Wisc. The Tigers will face the host Badgers on Friday at 7 p.m. and Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. The Mizzou cross country team will run in its second meet of the season on Sept. 23 when it travels to Minneapolis, Minn. for the Roy Griak Invitational.
