The University of Missouri women's tennis team completed the final day of the Billiken Fall Classic Saturday. The Tiger duo of Erika Josbena and Amanda Pratzel finished the first tournament of the fall in style by claiming the Doubles Championship.

After the event, Tiger Head Coach Blake Starkey was satisfied with the Tigers' overall performance.

"I'm seeing some good things for the first tournament. It was a good weekend."

One good thing Starkey saw was the success of Josbena and Pratzel. The tandem defeated Saint Louis' Katerina Lozanova and Tara Grant, 8-4, to win the Doubles Championship. Throughout the tournament, nobody won more than four games against the duo.

In the B Draw Singles bracket, Tiger junior Chrissy Svetlic won the championship match by defeating Eastern Illinois' Madina Mambetova, 6-1, 6-3. Also in singles action, Pratzel, a St. Louis native, advanced to the A Draw final before falling to SLU's Amanda Hellberg in a tiebreak, 5-7, 6-4, (10-6).

Tiger Freshman Kaitlin Dunham won the D Draw Singles title, 0-6, 2-2 (default). She has won the first four matches of her collegiate career. Stephanie Johns won the consolation final in the D Draw.

In the B Draw consolation bracket, Mizzou's Katelyn McKenzie fell to SLU's Katerina Lozanova, 6-1, 6-3. In the C Draw, Tiger junior Charlotte Bellis fell to Arkansas' Melissa Hoffmeister, 6-4, 4-6, (10-4) and Raquel Wagner lost in the second round.

The Tigers will return home to prepare for the Minnesota Invitational on Sept. 15-17 in Minneapolis, Minn.
