Columbia, Mo. - The University of Missouri Department of Athletics would like to inform Tiger fans of their game day parking options when traveling to Memorial Stadium for the 2006 Tiger Football season.
Once again, lots in the immediate vicinity of Memorial Stadium and the Hearnes Center are reserved for Tiger Scholarship Fund (TSF) donors. If you are not currently a TSF member, but would like to explore parking opportunities in this area, please contact the Tiger Scholarship Fund at 573-882-0704. Season-long parking permits are available for as little as $250. In addition to premium parking, your gift is tax-deductible and your donation may put you in position for ticket upgrades.
Should TSF parking locations not be an option this football season, parking is once again available on most streets, surface lots and garages in the immediate area. The lone restrictions with regards to parking around Memorial Stadium are in Residence Halls and the University Hospital lots. Additionally, in 2006 the Missouri State Highway Patrol will no longer permit parking on the shoulder of either side of Providence Road, from Stadium Blvd. south to Reactor Field.
In addition to the streets and surface lots, there are six parking garages available on game day. The Conley, University, Turner, Hitt and Virginia avenue garages are free to the public, while the Maryland Avenue garage costs $10 per vehicle. The Maryland Avenue lot has restricted parking as well. The first two levels of the garage are reserved for University Hospital employees. Fans attending the game are welcome to park on Level 3 and above however.
General parking is also available in surface lots located at the intersections of Research Park Drive and Providence Road and Maryland Road and Rollins. The flat fee for the Research Park lot is $10, while the Maryland Road lot is metered on the site of the old swimming natatorium. Recreations vehicles, buses and trailers will not be allowed in these lots.
RV and bus parking will be charged at a weekend rate of $50. The designated lot for RV's and buses is located just southeast of the Hearnes Center. Parking in this area will be available between 5-10 p.m. the night before kickoff and will re-open at 8 a.m. on game day.
Tailgating is permitted in the adjacent lots surrounding Memorial Stadium. For fan safety, the vehicle and associated activities may only occupy one (1) parking space and traffic aisles may not be blocked at anytime. Charcoal should be discarded in the specially marked barrels located throughout the lots and kegs, beer balls or bulk quantities of alcohol are not permitted in any vehicle or in any parking lot surrounding Memorial Stadium. University regulations and state statutes on drug and alcohol consumption will be enforced. Failure to comply can lead to confiscation of alcohol and fines.
For fan safety, bag inspections will be performed at all entrances into Memorial Stadium. In order to speed up the process of entering the stadium, please leave unnecessary items in your vehicle or at home and plan to arrive early.
Once again, gates into Memorial Stadium will open 90 minutes prior to kickoff. All persons attending the contest must have a ticket, but children age two and under will be admitted free provided they do not take up a seat.
Future home game tickets can be purchased at the Mizzou Arena and North End Zone box offices prior to kickoff of every home game. General admission tickets purchased on game day may be picked up at the North Ticket Office.
Missouri Football opens the 2006 season on Sept. 2 against the Murray State Racers. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.
