Missouri junior Nathan Culp was selected by the San Diego Padres in the fourth round with the 123rd overall pick in the 2006 Major League Baseball First-Year Players' Draft. Culp joins teammate Max Scherzer as Tigers that have been drafted on Tuesday.
Culp has an 11-5 record on the year, which is tied for the school record for wins in a season. He has pitched a pair of 3-hit shutouts this season. He was an All-Big 12 Conference First Team selection this year.
Culp has a career ERA of 3.66 at Mizzou with a 24-11 record, striking out 200 in 285.1 innings pitched.
The Tigers won the NCAA Malibu Regional last weekend and have advanced to the Super Regionals against Cal Stat-Fullerton. The Super Regional will get underway at 9 p.m. CT on Friday.
