The Mizzou Women's Golf Team will take part in its fourth-consecutive NCAA Regional this weekend and its eighth in nine years. The NCAA Central Regional will be played at the Traditions Club at Texas A&M in Bryan, Texas.
The Tigers will be the 12th seed in the 21-team field. Three regional tournaments will be conducted May 11-13 to determine the championships field. A total of 324 participants have been selected for the regional competition. Of these players, 126 will advance to the championships finals. Eight teams and two individuals will advance from each region. The championships finals will be held May 23-26 at the Scarlet Course, Columbus, Ohio, hosted by Ohio State University.
Last year the Tigers finished third at the NCAA Central Regional and made their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Championships.
Missouri has finished in the Top 10 in nine of its 10 tournament during the 2005-06 season and has four Top 5 finishes. The Tigers won the Price's Give'm Five Tournament in Las Cruces, N.M. in October. They finished fourth at the Big 12 Championships in Lincoln, Neb. in April.
