A week after finishing second at the Big 12 Conference Championships, Mizzou junior Stephanie Wavro has been named to the All-Big 12 First Team, as announced by the conference office on Thursday. Wavro shot a 54-hole score of 221 (76-70-75) in the conference tournament and has a stroke average of 75.50 this season.
Wavro had eight top-25 finishes in 2005-06 and two top-10s. Her low 18-hole score on the year was 69, which she shot twice. The 69 was also a new career best for Wavro. The second-place finish at the Big 12 Championships is the best for a Tiger in the Conference Championships since Mindy Bullard took second in 2003. Wavro's three-round total was just one shot behind her season best 54-hole score.
The Tigers took fourth place at the Big 12 Conference Championships and now await a selection to NCAA Regionals, which will be announced on May 1.
