Tigers Host Oklahoma State in Two-Game Softball Series

Having snapped a six-game losing streak on Wednesday, the Missouri softball team will continue Big 12 play with a two-game series against Oklahoma State, Friday, April 14, at 6 p.m. (CST) and Saturday, April 15, at 2 p.m. (CST). Live stats will be available on Gametracker and All-Access will also be provided for fans interested in viewing the game on-line. Both can be found by visiting mutigers.com. KCOU (88.1 FM) will also carry the game live for residents of Columbia.

Playing their first Friday night game since the March 3, 7-1, win over SEMO at the Missouri State Spring Classic in Springfield, Mo. the Tigers are 6-6 in night games, 3-5 in Friday games and 1-3 on Friday nights. With the third annual Audrey J. Walton combined events track meet taking place on the opposite side of softball, fans are encouraged to get to University Field early for good parking and a great seat.

The Cowgirls of Oklahoma State lead the all-time series with Missouri, 54-26, however Missouri owns a 14-12 record over OSU in the past 10 years and is 5-2 under Head Coach Ty Singleton's guidance. Last season Missouri split with Oklahoma State in Stillwater and won its second game of the Big 12 tournament, 5-1. The win in Oklahoma City over the Cowgirls kept Missouri's chance at a Big 12 title alive. Missouri and Oklahoma State are knotted at 4-4 over the past 10 years when playing on University Field.

Sophomore pitcher Jen Bruck enters the game against Oklahoma State with a 3.16 ERA and 17-12 record. Leading the team with her .358 batting average, Bruck is 34-for-95 at the plate with six home runs to her name. Junior outfielder Leanne Bowers carries a six-game hitting streak into the Friday night game. Her longest streak of the season, Bowers first hit of the six came in Missouri's 11-4 loss to UNLV in Las Vegas.
