Head Coach Cindy Stein
Can you please talk about the variety of things that LaToya brings to the team?
"With LaToya being our point guard there are a ton of things that she brings to the team. Her intelligence on the court and ability to make good decisions are always going to be a key. The thing that LaToya really brought to the table this year is not only the ability to open up space for a shot, but she also attracts a lot of attention from other teams and opens up opportunities for her teammates. She's a very smart player and good defender."
Is the lack of depth from your bench a concern for you?
"Our bench has been playing a lot better in the course of the past few weeks. In the last few weeks of the regular season and in the Big 12 tournament we had some kids really step up and do a good job for us. Those are some things that we are continuing to build on."
What are some advantages in having a team that is more experienced in playing together?
"The key for our team is the fact that they know each other and have been through all kinds of circumstances together. They really have confidence in each other. They have to make sure that they are always talking, especially during substitutions. Our five starters know what the others are going to do before they do it, which makes them move really well together on the court. They are very confident and have the mental toughness to succeed in the NCAA tournament and late game situations."

What can you tell us about how you think you will match up against Virginia Tech?
"Virginia Tech is a very athletic and talented team. I know that they are going to look to push the ball up the floor and be all over us on defense. We just need to stay focused and play hard."
Tiffany Brooks, Jr., Guard
What can you tell us about how you think you will match up against Virginia Tech?
"Virginia Tech is a very athletic team. They have a lot of good shooters and always penetrate. The big thing for us is going to be defense and then executing on the offensive end. What you will be seeing from us is pushing the ball a lot and looking for opportunities on fast breaks."
