Missouri Gymnastics Enters Top 10 In Latest GymInfo Poll

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri women's gymnastics team enters the top 10 of this week's GymInfo Coaches' Top 25 poll at No. 10 to tie the program's highest ever ranking set twice in 2004. Rankings are based on each team's average score until Feb. 20, when schools will be ranked based on their regional qualifying score. Mizzou is ranked second in the South Central Region behind Big 12 Conference foe Oklahoma and ahead of conference rivals Nebraska and Iowa State.

The Tigers also rank tied for fourth nationally on beam, 10th on bars, 14th on floor and 16th on vault. In the South Central Region, Mizzou comes in second on beam, third on bars, and fourth on vault and floor.

Individually, senior Jodie Heinicka is the top rated bars worker in the South Central Region and is tied for third nationally on the event. Freshman Adrianne Perry is second in the all-around, tied for fourth on beam and tied for fifth on vault in the region and is tied for ninth nationally in the all-around while senior Lauren Schwartzman ranks third in the region on beam and floor and eighth nationally on beam.

The Tigers next face Big 12 rival and No. 12 Nebraska on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 2:00 p.m. CT at the Devaney Center in Lincoln, Neb. The two squads met at the Super Six Challenge on Jan. 6 when Nebraska placed second with a 194.100 and Missouri finished sixth with a 192.700.
