
Mizzou Starts Slow at Mason Rudolph Invitational

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - - The Missouri women's golf team is tied for 14th place after the first round of the Mason Rudolph Invitational on the Ironhorse Course at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn. Missouri shot a 14-over par 302 in Friday's first round.
After a one-under par 35 on the front nine, senior Denise Munzlinger finished with a two-over 74 on the day placing her in a tie for 33rd to lead the Tigers.
Junior Stephanie Wavro finished with a three-over par 75 on Friday and is in a tie for 40th. One shot behind Wavro is senior Stephanie Turner, whose 76 puts her in a tie for 49th place.
Sophomore Madde Augustsson and senior Kelli Strubinger are each turned in a 77 on Friday, putting them in a tie for 56th.
"We left a lot out on the golf course today," Head Coach Stephanie Priesmeyer. "This is a phenomenal field and we just played average today and that is why we are where we are. But it is just the first round and there are two rounds to go and we feel good about playing better tomorrow."
Tournament host Vanderbilt, leads after a nine-under par team score of 279 in the first round to hold a six-stroke lead over Duke and Georgia.
The second round of the Mason Rudolph Invitational will tee off on Saturday morning with the third and final round set for Sunday.
