Football Team Captains Announced

Columbia, Mo. - Five veteran student-athletes have been chosen to serve as team captains for the University of Missouri football team for the 2005 season, as announced today by Head Coach Gary Pinkel.
Captains, as chosen by a vote of their teammates, include senior linebacker Derrick Ming (Webster Groves, Mo.), senior offensive lineman Tony Palmer (Midwest City, Okla.), senior safety Jason Simpson (The Woodlands, Texas), senior quarterback Brad Smith (Youngstown, Ohio) and senior cornerback Calvin Washington (Dallas, Texas).
All but Smith are first-time team captains. Smith will be a captain for the third straight season for the Tigers.
Fall camp begins today at 3:45 with an afternoon practice at Faurot Field. Be sure to stay tuned to www.mutigers.com for practice reports throughout camp.
