
Tigers Even Series with 10-6 Win

COLUMBIA, Mo. - - Missouri took a 10-6 win over Oklahoma in the second game of the three-game series on Saturday at Taylor Stadium. That came after the Tigers fell to the Sooners 2-1 in 10 innings in the series opener, which was completed on Saturday afternoon.
Mizzou trailed 4-0 after four and a half innings of play before putting 10 run on the board in the next four innings. After scoring three in the bottom of the fifth, it put two on the board in the sixth, three in the seventh and two in the eighth to put the game away.
Junior Nick Admire took the win to move to 2-0 on the season and junior Andrew Johnston picked up his second save of the season.
Junior Derek Chambers had three hits and drove in four runs for the Tigers, while junior Trevor Helms and sophomore Hunter Mense each had two hits.
Earlier in the day, the two teams complete the first game of the series, which had been suspended because of rain Friday night.
Tied at one going to extra innings, the Sooners scored a run in the top of the tenth inning and held off the Tigers to get the win.
Sophomore Max Scherzer started the game on Friday and went six innings, allowing just one run on one hit and struck out nine before having to be taken out of the game when play was suspended.
Mense had two hits in that game also and junior J.C. Field added a pair of hits.
The final game of the series will get underway at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Taylor Stadium.
