
Oklahoma State Completes Sweep of Tigers

STILLWATER, Okla. - - Mizzou fell to Oklahoma State by a score of 8-5 on Sunday in Stillwater, Okla. as the Cowboys completed a three-game sweep of MU. It is the first three-game sweep of the Tigers since Oklahoma took three from the Tigers last April.
For the first time this weekend, Mizzou (27-9, 8-4) scored the game's first runs, as junior James Boone hit his fifth home run of the season, a three-run shot to left center in the top of the first inning.
Boone led off the third inning with a double down the right field line and was driven in on a single by junior Zane Taylor. Taylor would then score on a single by freshman by Evan Frey.
Boone finished 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored and now has 62 RBI on the season.
The Cowboys (27-14, 8-7) cut the lead to 5-3 when Jeff Parrish connected for a three-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the third inning. They would tie the game at five, as they put two runs on the board with four-consecutive two-out singles in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Parrish homered for the second time on Sunday, sending a two-run home run over the wall in straight away center field.
OSU made it eight unanswered runs as Justin Colbert homered in the bottom of the eighth inning. It was the third home run of the day for the Cowboys and the seventh of the series.
Junior Doug Mathis started for Mizzou and went four innings, allowing five runs (all earned) on eight hits. He struck out four and walked two in the no decision.
MU takes on Saint Louis in O'Fallon, Mo. in the annual "Wood Bat Classic" at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
