Mizzou Men's Basketball Serves Thanksgiving Meal At Lou's Palace

Nov. 23, 2005

Columbia, Mo. - The holiday season marks a time for giving, a time for sharing and a time for family. The University of Missouri men's basketball family will give back to a community that has shared so much with them on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 24), when it travels to Lou's Palace on 1020 East Walnut in Columbia to serve Thanksgiving Dinner.

The Tigers will begin serving the Thanksgiving meal at noon and will also meet and greet local patrons and their families, while talking about the upcoming basketball season.

"This is a great event for our players," head coach Quin Snyder said. "They enjoy the interaction with the community and it is important for us to realize how fortunate we truly are. We are blessed in so many ways and it's opportunities like this that can help us persevere throughout the season."

So far this season the Tigers are 1-1 and showed great perseverance in an 81-72 win over Northwestern State on Nov. 20. Mizzou trailed by as many as 12 points against the defending Southland Conference Champions, but rallied back for the nine-point win.

Missouri returns to action next Tuesday (Nov. 29) in an intrastate contest with UMKC. The game is slated for a 7:05 p.m. tip and will be televised locally on KZOU, in addition to Metro Sports (Kansas City) and Fox Sports Midwest (St. Louis / Regional).
