Mizzou Women's Golf Signs Lindsey Haupt to National Letter of Intent

Nov. 21, 2005

Lindsey Haupt, who finished in the top 15 in the Missouri Class 2 State Championships in each of her four years at St. Joseph's Academy in St. Louis, Mo., has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Mizzou women's golf team in 2006, MU Head Coach Stephanie Priesmeyer announced on Monday.

Haupt is just the 13th player to place in the top 15 of the State Championships in each of her four years in high school. She took third place this season, after finishing ninth in both 2003 and 2004 and 14th in 2002 as a freshman.

"The team and I are very excited about Lindsey joining our squad next year," Priesmeyer said. "She has been one of the state's strongest players all year and has propelled her team to a State Championship this fall. Lindsey is a team leader and really makes the people around her better on and off the golf course."

Haupt was a four-year varsity starter at St. Joseph's Academy in St. Louis and was the low scorer for the St. Joseph State Champion Team in 2005. She was the medalist at the 2005 Missouri Class 2 District Tournament and was the co-medalist in the 2004 District Tournament. Haupt also holds the school record for lowest tournament round with a 67 at Hickory Point Golf Course in Decatur, Ill.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch named Haupt to the All-Metro first team in 2004 and 2005. She was a second team member in 2003 and earned honorable mention in 2002. She was also named to the MWAA All-Star first team all four years of her high school career.

Haupt joins Julia Potter, who signed with Missouri last week, as members of the 2006 incoming class for the Mizzou women's golf team.
