CSTV To Air Missouri-Nebraska Volleyball Match Live

COLUMBIA, Mo.--This Sunday's volleyball match between No. 12 Missouri and No. 1 Nebraska will be aired live on College Sports Television (CSTV) from Lincoln, Neb., staring at 5 p.m., central. The match has been tapped as the AVCA/CSTV Match of the Week as two of the best offenses in the country square off in their 64th meeting all-time. The Huskers are leading the Big 12 with a 15-0 conference record, being only one of two teams in the country to remain undefeated (24-0). The Tigers are sitting third in the Big 12 with a 13-3 Big 12 standing and a 19-3 overall record.

 

CSTV can be found in Columbia on Charter cable channel 404, on DIRECTv channel 610, or on DISH Network channel 152. Mediacom does not currently carry ESPNU.

 

In addition, several screens will be dedicated to the match at T.K. Brothers, the Official Mizzou Party Headquarters. T.K. Brothers is in Columbia on Forum Blvd.

 

The match will also be replayed on a tape-delayed basis on the network at later times.

 

Vander Kooi Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team

Junior Tiger Jessica Vander Kooi (Hinton, Iowa) was honored on Thursday, as she was chosen for the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VII Team, as selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

 

Vander Kooi garners a 3.81 GPA, majoring in International Business with a Spanish minor. In 2004, Vander Kooi received honorable mention honors to the AVCA All-Central Region team. In 2003, Vander Kooi was named Big 12 and AVCA Central Region Freshman of the Year.

 

Vander Kooi is one of the best all-around players in the Big 12, having solid marks that place her in the top-15 statistically in five of seven major categories. Currently, Vander Kooi is averaging 3.53 kills per game, 2.73 digs per game, 1.12 blocks per game, and 4.46 points per game along with 0.32 aces per game, having recorded eight double-doubles this season.

In all, four of the seven selections in District VII were from Big 12 programs, as Kansas' Paula Caten and Nebraska's Sarah Pavan and Christina Houghtelling were also honored.

 

Voting for ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America awards will occur later this month, with the Academic All-America teams announced in early December.
