Columbia, Mo. - Columbia, Mo. - With the Mizzou basketball season officially tipping-off on Friday (Oct. 14), anticipation continues to build for the Tigers' first public outing, the 2005 Black & Gold Game, on Oct. 21 in Mizzou Arena at 7 p.m.
The annual event, which features autograph and pictures sessions with the 2005-06 team, the ABC 17 Slam Dunk contest and on-the-court games and contests for fans, will begin at 7 p.m. and extend until approximately 9:10 p.m.
Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for $1 with $2,500 in prizes provided by Columbia Photos and Electronics in addition to prize packs from Mediacom. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit Coaches vs. Cancer and the Boys and Girls Club of Boone County.
One lucky fan could win a shot at $10,000 in the Mediacom Shootout. Held at halftime of the Black & Gold Game, one fan will shoot for prizes, with the potential to win one half-court shot worth $10,000.
The Tiger men's basketball program opens the 2005-06 season on Nov. 2 with an exhibition contest against Bemidji State at Mizzou Arena. The 7 pm tip will be carried live on the Mizzou Sports Network. The Tigers open regular-season action in the Preseason NIT when they host Sam Houston State on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets for that contest are available by calling the Missouri Athletic Ticket Offices at 1-800-CAT PAWS (7297).

• Tigers will sign autographs and take pictures on the concourse
• Fans can also attend a picture station with Truman the Tiger
7:45 p.m.
• Autograph and picture sessions end and fans are invited into the Mizzou Arena bowl
7:55 p.m.
• On-court entertainment with the Marching Mizzou and Spirit Squads
• Q106 Hoops Challenge, pitting radio personalities from Q106 and KMIZ on Norm Stewart Court
• Mediacom Shootout with four fans selected randomly with an opportunity to win prizes
8:15 p.m.
• Countdown to the start of basketball season, Tigers take the floor
8:25 p.m.
