Tigers Travel to Peoria for Bradley Classic

Oct. 13, 2005

Columbia, Mo. - The Missouri cross county team will travel to Peoria, Ill., and compete in the Bradley Classic, Friday, Oct. 14, on Newman Golf Course. Missouri's men will take to the course first in an 8K race beginning at 4:15 p.m. (CT), with the women's 6K set for a 5 p.m. (CT) start. Eleven teams from across the Midwest are expected to attend the afternoon race.

This marks Missouri's final regular season competition of 2005 campaign and lays the groundwork for the Big 12 Championships, Oct. 28, in Waco, Texas. Hosted by Baylor, the 10th annual race will be held on the Texas Farm Bureau Course. Missouri's three Big 12 runner of the week recipients, seniors Kristin Hansen (Milford, Iowa), Valerie Lauver (Allen, Texas) and two-time honoree Tim Ross (Alto, Mich.) are expected to make great strides in the meet.

In Missouri's last outing, both Tiger teams took ninth at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind., with Ross finishing first for the men and 12th overall in a school-best time of 24:01. On the women's side, Lauver set a personal-best 5K time of 17:14, finishing 10th overall and first for Missouri.
