Coming off a third-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament, the University of Missouri baseball team will open up its Fall 2005 schedule with the Black and Gold Game at 6 p.m. on Friday at Taylor Stadium. The intersquad game will give Tiger fans their first chance to see the 2005-06 Mizzou Baseball team in action
The Tigers have been split into two teams. The rosters are below.
Mizzou is coming off another trip to the NCAA Tournament last spring, which capped of a 40-23 season. It is one of just two teams in the Big 12 Conference that has advanced to three-straight postseasons. Tim Jamieson enters his 12th season as the Missouri head coach. He will welcome back 17 letterwinners from last year's team and has added 14 newcomers for the upcoming season.
Among the returners this season are last year's Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Year and All-American Max Scherzer and All-Big 12 Conference Team members Hunter Mense, Nathan Culp, Taylor Parker, Zane Taylor and Jacob Priday, who also earned Freshman All-American honors last season.
Following the Black and Gold Game, Missouri will hold its annual Fall World Series, starting with game one at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19. For the complete Fall World Series schedule, click here. The Black and Gold game and all games of the Fall World Series are free and open to the public.
