Sept. 8, 2005

Mizzou seniors Ben Scott and Denise Munzlinger have each been named to Golf World's Players to Watch for the upcoming season. The rankings will appear in the September 9th issue of Golf World.

Scott is the Tiger men's most experienced player, having made MU's Big 12 Championships lineup all three years he has been eligible. He led Mizzou with eight top-10 finishes last season, including five of his final six outings. Scott tied for third at the NCAA Central Regional which was the best ever finish for a Missouri golfer and he earned All-Big 12 Tournament honors with a fifth place finish.

Munzlinger earned All-American Honorable Mention honors last season, along with being named to the All-Big 12 Conference First Team for the second straight season. She had a stroke average of 74.91 last season, which was the second best on the team. Munzlinger has finished in the top-15 at the Big 12 Championships all three years she has been at Missouri.

The Mizzou men are coming off the season-opening Missouri Intercollegiate, where they took the tournament title. They will next play in the Coca-Cola Tournament of Champions next Monday and Tuesday in Knoxville, Tenn. The Tiger women open their season with the Badger Invitational on Sunday and Monday in Madison, Wis.
