Columbia's KZOU-TV To Air Mizzou-Huskers Volleyball Match

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri athletic department announced Thursday that Columbia UPN-affiliate KZOU, Channel 11, will air a tape-delay broadcast of the seventh-ranked Tiger women's volleyball match with No. 1 Nebraska next Wednesday at 9 p.m. The match, slated for 6:30 p.m., will be held in the Hearnes Center, and fans can receive free admission with two canned-good items as part of "Can the Huskers" night, benefiting the Central Missouri Food Bank.

KZOU can be found in Columbia on Charter Cable channel 3 or on Mediacom channel 28. Those with digital antenna receivers can take the signal off-air from channel 22.3.

MetroSports, a Time Warner Cable network in Kansas City, will air the match live to those subscribers in Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas starting at 6:30 p.m., with Mike Kelly providing play-by-play and former Mizzou volleyball coach, Craig Sherman, providing color commentary. In addition, Fox Sports Midwest will air a tape-delay broadcast of the match on Sunday, October 9, starting at 2 p.m.

Also, subscribers to Mizzou All-Access, an mutigers.com venture, can view the match live from anywhere in the world. Check mutigers.com for details.

The Missouri volleyball team has started the 2005 season at 11-0 with the best-team start since 1982. The Tigers have started the Big 12 season at 5-0, tied for the conference lead with No. 1 Nebraska. Starting the season ranked 21st in the country, Mizzou has quickly climbed the charts by defeating four top-20 teams and two top-10 teams in three-game sweeps to reach their current No. 7 ranking.

Before facing the Huskers, the Tigers will travel to Lubbock, Texas, to take on Texas Tech on Saturday.
