After completing a weekend which involved sweeping their second top-10 team in as many weeks, the University of Missouri volleyball squad jumped to the top 10 themselves for the first time in school history as announced today by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Moving from last week's No. 14 ranking, the Tigers move to No. 10 after completing sweeps over No. 9 Wisconsin, Montana State, and Northern Colorado at last weekend's Holiday Inn Classic in Bozeman, Mont.

The AVCA/CSTV Coaches' Top 25 poll gives Missouri the nod as the second-highest Big 12 team on the poll for the first time this season, as Texas A&M moved down two spots from 13th to 15th. Nebraska has a stranglehold on the top of the poll, receiving 57 of 60 first place votes.

Other Big 12 teams on the poll include Texas that stands tied at 18th with San Diego, Kansas State at 22nd. In addition, Kansas is receiving votes on the poll.

The Tigers will begin conference play this Wednesday in the Hearnes Center when Mizzou will take on Iowa State at 6:30 p.m. What is more pressing on the Tigers upcoming schedule is a date in College Station, Texas, with No. 15 Texas A&M, a place in which the Tigers have never won.
