Columbia, Mo. - Kansas City-area fans of the University of Missouri athletic program will be able to catch their beloved Tigers on the radio and television for years to come, thanks to recently extended partnerships with KCSP Radio (610 AM) and Metro Sports Television, as announced today by Laird Veatch, General Manager of Mizzou Sports Properties.
KCSP Radio will continue to be the home to Mizzou Athletics, as the station will carry MU football and men's basketball games, as well as popular radio talk shows such as "Tiger Talk," and the "Mike Alden Show."
"610 Sports and Entercom are excited about continuing our long-standing relationship with Missouri Athletics and Learfield Communications," said Michael Keck, general manager of KCSP. "We look forward to being the voice of Mizzou Athletics in the Kansas City market. Go Tigers!," he said.
On the television side, Mizzou will partner once again with Metro Sports for shows such as "This Week in Mizzou Football," the "Mizzou Football Replay Show," and "This Week in Mizzou Basketball," in addition to broadcasts of all men's basketball games shown as part of the Mizzou Sports Network.
"We are very excited to be able to bring the MU Tigers to Metro Sports viewers," said John Denison, general manager of Metro Sports. "The University of Missouri has die-hard fans and it's that dedication to collegiate sports that creates true excitement and great television. The effect has been a 12-year relationship that is a very important part of Metro Sports and Time Warner Cable," he said.
"Metro Sports is an especially unique and important partner for Mizzou basketball games, as they not only show the telecasts, but they are also responsible for the production aspect of all MSN telecasts," said Veatch.
Both agreements are for five years. For full listings of all MU television and radio shows, please visit the official website of Mizzou Athletics, at www.mutigers.com.
