COLUMBIA, Mo. - Open spots still remain for the 2005 Missouri Swimming and Diving Summer camps, scheduled to run from June 12th-17th and June 26th-July 1st. The second session, originally scheduled to take place from June 19th-24th, has been cancelled.
At each camp session, both a technique camp and a competitive camp will be offered. The latter is open to swimmers ages eight to 18, and is designed for individual and group instruction in the four competitive strokes, as well as starts and turns. The competitive camp is an option for swimmers age 10 and up who wish to build an aerobic base for the summer season while also receiving instruction on all phases of competitive swimming.
This year's camps will be the first held in Mizzou's brand new natatorium, which is houses a 50-meter, eight-lane pool. Swimmers will participate in dry land and water workouts each day, attend lectures on swimming and nutrition and learn from an experienced staff of Tiger coaches and swimmers in a fun and motivating environment.
