SAN ANTONIO - Junior Chris Mabry (Leawood, Kan. / Bishop Miege HS) is in the top 10 following an even-par day through the first two rounds of the UTSA Intercollegiate on Monday at Oak Hills Country Club.
Mabry fired a 1-under-par 70 in the morning round before carding a 72 in the afternoon. He is in sole possession of 10th place. Sophomore John Kelly (St. Louis, Mo. / Christian Brothers College HS) opened the day with a 2-under 69 - his best first-day score of the season - before closing with a 75 to sit in a tie for 12th place.
As a team, Mizzou is in seventh place in the 16-team field. MU had an aggregate four-player score of 5-over 289 in the first round, and a 298 in the second. The Tigers are nine strokes behind the host Roadrunners and Arkansas-Little Rock, who stand in a fifth-place tie. Baylor and Wichita State are tied for the first-day lead at 3-over 571.
Among the rest of the Tigers, junior Ben Scott (Lancashire, United Kingdom / St. Theodore's HS) is in a tie for 43rd after rounds of 74 and 76; sophomore Tyler Dunn (Godfrey, Ill. / Alton HS), who is playing as a scoring team member for the first time this season, carded matching rounds of 76; and sophomore Shawn Jasper (Marthasville, Mo. / Francis Howell North HS / Newman Univ.) improved on an opening 84 with an afternoon 75.
The tournament's final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday.
