Columbia, Mo. -Missouri senior Megan Roney (basketball) and junior Tristan Hansen (wrestling) were named this week's Lathrop & Gage student-athletes of the week. Both individuals demonstrate strong skills in their respective field of play, excel in the classroom and contribute significant amounts of time to the local community.

Roney, a native of Independence, Mo., is a center on the Missouri women's basketball team. Helping the Tigers in her senior campaign, Roney is credited with 76 rebounds and 88 points. Currently, Roney is shooting 85 percent from the free throw line. Off of the court, Roney holds a 3.56 grade-point average in Business and dedicates her free time to help with the Toys for Tots campaign and Missouri Division of Alcohol and Drugs Ad Campaign.

The lone Texas native on the 13th ranked Missouri wrestling team, Hansen is from Carrollton and holds a 3.08 grade-point average in Business. Hansen is 15-5 while wrestling at 174-pounds. Three of Hansen's wins were by major decision and one by fall in 3:32. Along with his teammates, Hansen helps with the NCAA Yes Clinic, providing parents with information about life as a student athlete.

The women's basketball team will resume action at home, Wednesday, Feb. 23, against Big 12 opponent Iowa State at 7 p.m. (CT). Missouri wrestling will have two weeks off before traveling to Omaha, Neb., for the ninth annual Big 12 Wrestling Championships on Saturday, March 5, in the Qwest Center.
