Moran, Asigbee Finish Second, Third At Pentathlon Nationals

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Former Missouri Tigers and current track and field staff members, Michelle Moran and Fiona Asigbee competed Sunday in the USATF Indoor Combined Event Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C. Moran took second and Asigbee finished third, both earning personal bests.
Moran's (Wildwood, Mo.) scored 4,093 points, a personal-best, and finished second overall after placing first in the final event, the 800-meter run. With the 838 points scored from that event, Moran jumped from third to second.
Asigbee (Walford, Iowa) took third overall after scoring 4,041 points, earning a personal-best as well.
Moran took the Big 12 crown in the heptathlon in 2000 and competed in the USATF Olympic Trials that year. Asigbee won both the indoor and outdoor combined event Big 12 titles in 2003 and has already qualified for July's USATF Olympic Trials.
