
Mizzou Edges Out Kansas State

After losing the doubles point, the 55th-ranked Tigers rebound in singles to bring home a win. The win puts the team at 10-8 on the year in regional play and 3-5 in Big 12.
The match evened up at 3-3 and came down to Katka Sevcikova's singles match at No. 2 against Jessica Simosa. After getting her serve broken throughout the match, Sevcikova came up with aces to win the third set and give the Tigers the win.
Senior Urska Juric fell at the No. 1 singles position to Maria Rosenberg 6-3, 6-1. At No. 3, Hana Kraftova took down Paulina Castillejos 6-3, 6-2. She is 11-4 on the year in singles. Kansas State's Hayley McIver took down Yelena Olshanskaya 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4.
Coach Blake Starkey pulled junior Mary Barry out of the No. 5 slot after doubles due to a reoccurring back injury. Lucie Ruskova stepped up at No. 5 and took out Judith Diaz 6-3, 6-1. At No. 6, freshman Erika Josbena got another win under her belt against Aveen Alkhatib, winning 6-0, 6-1.
The Tigers head back to Columbia for their last home match against Nebraska at noon Saturday at the Green Tennis Center.
