Despite playing without their entire line-up, Mizzou began their California swing successfully today defeating Minnesota 6-1. The match was played at Fresno State University in Fresno, California. The Tigers started out strong sweeping three doubles competitions to claim the doubles point. The momentum carried into singles action where they won five of the six contests.
"Today was a complete effort, with some very close matches. Minnesota has a strong program, and we were fortunate to get this. Lucie has had limited playing time recently, and it was great to see her compete so strong in both the singles and the doubles."
The match was the Tigers third of the season against teams from the Big 10. The Tigers conclude the year 2-1 against Big 10 opponents.
The Tigers continue play tomorrow when they will take on their highest ranked opponent of the season in host #14 Fresno State. Two days later, they will play #23 Oregon.
