Box Score

Columbia, Mo.--Defeating Texas Tech 4-1, the Missouri Tigers brought their season record to 7-9-1 with a 4-5-0 mark in the Big 12 Conference. Relying on the talents of its veterans, seniors Melissa Peabody, Kristen Heil and Shea Swoboda paired with junior Amber Swinehart and sophomore Aria Hudetz to put Mizzou in the winner's circle.

Giving up just two shots during the first half, Mizzou dominated Texas Tech scoring two goals. Heil scored her first goal of the season putting the Tigers on the board just three minutes into play taking assists from Peabody and Hudetz.

Peabody and Hudetz paired up again to score the Tigers's second goal just 12 minutes later. Lofting a ball over the midfield ranks, Peabody launched a shot around 20 yards out to score the game-winner.

Opening the second half, Hudetz finally put in a goal of her own taking an assist from midfielder Amber Swinehart to score a header. Unable to shutout the Radiers for a full 90 minutes, Texas Tech put in its only goal in the 59th minute when Ashley Reed scored unassisted launching a shot from around 25-yards out.

Before the Tigers could retaliate, lightning storms passed through the area forcing a 20 minutes rain delay. Jumping back into play, Mizzou rounded out the game scoring another goal with just two minutes remaining. Claiming her second goal of the season, Swoboda collected a endline pass from Heil on for a shot inside the six-yard box.

Dominating the Raiders, Missouri outshot Texas Tech 31-to-6 with a 15-to-1 shot on goal differential. Goalkeeper Laura Buehrig picked up her sixth victory of the season giving up just one goal.

The Tigers round out Big 12 Conference action on the road playing Baylor Sun., Oct. 24 at 1:00 p.m., in Waco, Texas. Missouri finishes up the regular season hosting Alabama A&M next Friday at 7:00 p.m.
