Missouri Falls to Texas, 6-0

Austin, Texas--Unable to maintain their momentum following a tremendous victory over #6 Texas A&M, the Tigers dropped its second match in the Lone Star state to Texas. The Longhorns bested Mizzou 6-0 taking Missouri to a 6-9-1 record with a 3-5-0 mark against Big 12 Conference opponents.

Mizzou opened the game strongly creating dangerous scoring opportunities early in the first period. Keeping the ball in the Texas defensive third through the majority of the half, the Longhorns turned the table on Missouri's offensive efforts however putting in two goals in the first 45 minutes.

Despite keeping pace with the Longhorns with a 13-to-19 shot differential, the Tigers fared no better in the second period as Texas put four goals past the Tigers to round out the game with a 6-0 victory.

Missouri rounds out the 2004 Big 12 Conference season next weekend facing Texas Tech and Baylor. The Tigers host the Red Raiders on Fri., Oct. 22 at 7:00 p.m. Mizzou then travels to Waco to play Baylor on Sun., Oct. 24 at 1:00 p.m.
