Columbia, MO - The University of Missouri Women's Golf squad will compete in its second tournament of the year this weekend when it travels to the Jeannine McHaney Invitational in Lubbock, TX. The Tigers are coming off a historic performance their last time out at the Lady Northern Classic. Some of the ground-breaking performances included ...

Maria Ohlsson's second-round total of 66 was the lowest round in school history and was also a course record for U-M Golf Course by five strokes. For her efforts on the weekend, she was named the Golf World Women's Intercollegiate Player of the Week

• Ohlsson's 54-hole total of 214 broke her own school record of 215 which she set last fall at the Las Vegas Collegiate Classic.

• The tourney win was the first of Ohlsson's career and the first Tiger individual championship since Amelia Moses was the Big 12 co-champion in 2001.

• The Tiger's team total of 886 was the lowest three-round total in school history. The effort eclipses the former record of 888 at the Chip-N-Club Invite in 1997.

This is Mizzou's first trip to the McHaney under head coach Stephanie Cooper, who is in her fourth year at the helm of the Tiger ship. "Our kids continue to practice well and compete for spots in the lineup," Cooper said. "I thought our effort was solid in Ann Arbor, but we know there are always areas we can improve on as the season progresses."
